Alysia Beard

Founder and Principal Physiotherapist

Alysia is an experienced Physiotherapist with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children all over the world. Alysia founded Mighty Kids with the vision of helping children in Australia while also sending unused equipment and therapy teams to children in need in underprivileged countries.

Alysia’s journey in working with children with disabilities began during her student years when she had the privilege of working with a beautiful girl with Cerebral Palsy. It was during this time that she found her love for paediatric physiotherapy, where she can deliver therapy in a way that is fun while also making a difference in the lives of children and their families.

With a special interest in treating 0-6 year olds with complex physical presentations, including conditions such as cerebral palsy, spinal muscular atrophy, and other genetic disorders, Alysia is particularly drawn to CME therapy as she has seen first-hand how beneficial it can be. Her dedication to this approach led her to travel to Canada for her CME Level II training, deepening her love and commitment to this transformative therapy.

With a holistic perspective, Alysia recognises the importance of considering all aspects of a child’s life in their therapeutic journey. Her background in paediatric disability and musculoskeletal physiotherapy equips her with the expertise to provide comprehensive care tailored to each child’s unique needs.

Alysia feels called to empower the bodies and minds of children with disabilities and their families. She believes that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and is committed to delivering compassionate and effective care through Mighty Kids Therapy.
