Mighty Kids Therapy helps kids improve in all ways by making hard activities fun and taking the time to connect with the whole family.

At Mighty Kids Therapy, our Exercise Physiologists and Physiotherapists work closely alongside each other and often have shared clients.

There is a lot of overlap between the two disciplines. Below is a brief overview of the main similarities and differences.

How our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists work together

At Mighty Kids Therapy, our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists work together to provide coordinated, goal-focused care.

All of our therapists are trained in Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME) therapy and support children with neurological conditions, complex physical disabilities, developmental delay, and post-operative rehabilitation.

They work collaboratively to improve movement, strength, gross motor skills, independence, and participation through individualised, evidence-based therapy.

Both Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists:

  • Deliver Cuevas Medek Exercise (CME) therapy and other evidence-based, goal-directed interventions

  • Develop individualised therapy and progressive exercise programs

  • Support gross motor development, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, and functional movement

  • Provide rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery

  • Work collaboratively with families, schools, medical specialists, and the broader healthcare team

  • Monitor progress and adapt therapy to help children achieve meaningful functional goals

Physiotherapists also provide:

  • Clinical assessment, diagnosis, and monitoring of physical and developmental concerns

  • Assessment and management of babies with conditions such as plagiocephaly and torticollis

  • Assessment of developmental and musculoskeletal presentations such as in-toeing, lower limb alignment, and other movement concerns

  • Prescription, review, and training in assistive technology, including orthotics, standing frames, walkers, and wheelchairs
